Hi! Coming to you from Ireland and looking for advice on whether to go for an endoscopic brow lift or not? Personal experiences appreciated. Also, can aypne recommend a surgeon, UK, Europe or east coast USA? Susan IP: Logged |

Hi! I have had an endoscopic brow lift twice. The first one was unsuccessful and gave me a very heavy brow look after it fell. I then had another one two years later (to correct the fallen one) and it is satisfactory, though I have a lot of hair loss from the screws used. I am lucky in that I have very thick hair and can hide the bald spots, but I think it would be very difficult if one did not have really thick hair and this occurred. Both of mine were performed in the U.S. and in a southern state in a large city. The talent is very scarce in the southern U.S. for plastic surgery, so I would definitely not be looking for a surgeon in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Have you thought about trying Botox first? It is much less invasive and will give you an idea of what a brow lift can do without causing all the scarring and scar tissue and possible problems. If your mind is set on this procedure, I am sure someone can offer names of potential plastic surgeons that they have had successes with. I wish you the best of luck! IP: Logged |

Hi Ms. Trustful Now, Four months ago, on June 1, 2001, I had an "open" browlift (a pre-treichial forehead lift??). Four months later the top of my head still feels like a tight skull cap has been placed on it. I am suffering from headaches, tightness, numbness, and throbbing. Did you experience such symptoms with your endoscopic browlifts? Is this normal so long after surgery? When is it going to go away? I'm happy with the results but if I continue feeling the way I do now I don't know what I will do. IP: Logged |

Susan, a friend had a facelift and browlift a year ago. She, too, was left with circular bald spots about 3/4-inch in diameter above her forhead several inch into the hairline. She really wasn't bothered by them as her hair covers them. However, her plastic surgeon offered to do an office procedure where he will bring the edges of the hair together there and eliminate the bald spots. This is at no cost, so she's decided to go ahead with it in case she ever wants to severely change her hair style. So there is a way to correct bald spots if they occur. BTW, she loves both her facelift and browlift. We live in the Rocky Mountains so cannot give you a ps recommendation. IP: Logged |
