I am a 28 year old male and have recently began to lose my hair. I have come to terms somewhat with losing my hair, however for the first time I am seeing what I have felt beneath my hair all these years. I have to dents on either side of the top of my head, about where a baby's soft spot would be. I recently consulted a physician concerning a process that would use bone paste to fill these in. I am up for any ideas anyone might have. Please help..........thanks IP: Logged |

Good to hear you've come to terms with the baldness at an early age, and I hope you realize you're not alone. I just wanted to say that I know several bald men, and if I'm not mistaken, each of them has those "dents" that you're referring to. It's perfectly natural, and not uncommon at all. Sorry that I have no info on the bone paste, although maybe someone else will. I simply wanted to reassure you that, unless those "spots" are exceptionally obvious or deep on you, I would think they'd just be part of the "acceptance" of the balding process. IP: Logged |

Dawn, thanks so much for responding, it's nice to know someone is listening. This are a little deeper and the are somewhat simmetrical. The plastic surgeon I went to is basically telling me the procedure is going to cost $15,000 and I think it seems outrageous. I did some research and could find no one procedure that was anywhere remotely close to this price. IP: Logged |

Well, just when I had totally been good at not replying to ANY messages ever again... I look at this one and think - - hmmmmmm..... no way can I not answer this one. Please, please, please, realize that the dents are very, very normal. I fell in love the very first time with a man (21 years old who played college football) who was bald with the most beautiful dents as you describe. I loved watching his muscles and nerves contract when he was animated. This is so beautiful and natural. Please leave it alone. Any doctor that wants to "correct" such a natural feature is just out to get your money. Please, realize this is a most valuable feature and don't succumb to plastic surgeon's greed who will most certainly play into your insecurities and have you thinking that you must fix this when in fact it is something that is very beautiful and desirable. Well said, Ms. Trustful! I have to agree with your comments. Also, Fullcircle, that price sounds outrageous. I've seen posts from people who have had full facelifts, plus eyes, nose and/or chin, as well as lipo done for that amount of money, all combined. I would most definitely get another opinion. For that matter, I truly believe it's important for anyone, considering any plastic surgery at all, to have several consultations and to check the surgeon out thoroughly before proceeding with any surgery. Another doctor may not only be more reasonably priced, but he may very well have good reason why it either shouldn't be done, or should be done in a safer or more effective manner. Just my opinion, of course...but better safe than sorry. And, I have to add...I looked at the head of a bald friend of mine today, thinking of your post. He not only has significant dents on either side of where the "soft spot" would be, but also has a few closer to his forehead. They are in no way unattractive, and in fact, he's a handsome man. I have a feeling that the fact that you're balding while still young might be making you more self-conscious or critical of yourself than is necessary. In the end, when a person is attracted to you, they'll find that to be a part of the attraction because it's "part of you". IP: Logged |

Thanks so much for your posts! They do help to cheer me up. I thought the price seemed very extreme as well. I looked on some of the plastic surgery sights and did some comparisons and couldn't find anything remotely that expensive. To be honest, I could only find one plastic surgeon locally that was willing to see me when I explained what my problem was, so I'm at a loss as to where to get a second opinion. There was a doctor in North Carolina that I corresponded with briefly who basically told me of the procedure, but somehow I deleted his email adresse and now I can't seem to locate him. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and are very therapeutic! IP: Logged |
