ok heres my problem: most ppl have foreheads no bigger than an inch in height, right? well, mine's almost 2 inches. i also have "horns", or very prominent bumps mid-forehead that cast a shadow, although these don't really bother me as much as the size of my forehead. how can i get a reduction? i've seen 2 plastic surgeons about it and they just said i was "too hard on myself" and told me beauty is how you feel inside. well, i feel like sh*t inside, i wrinkle my forehead everytime the wind blows and it bothers me literally every second of every day. Your forehead is not too big. You will continue developing now for another 4 years. Find pictures in your parents highschool yearbooks and see how much they've changed. Guys that I thought were cute in highschool ended up looking pretty bad and the "ugly" ones came out the best, by and large. A lot of people hate the way they look at 15. It's a time of transition. I'm probably wasting my breath here, but relax and concentrate on the good things about yourself. You really are only young once. IP: Logged |

Freak of nature If you feel bad inside then start working on that. A good cognitive therapist will help you with that. Also you can grow your bangs out or your hair out and get it cut and styled to a fashionable look. That way it covers your forehead. But I really suggest working on your self esteem and healing shame in therapy. Or check out some books on it. SO that you can go threw high school without feeling like a freak of nature. IP: Logged |

I can't believe that most people have a forehead smaller than an inch - that is very small! You are measuring the area b/w the eyebrows and your hairline, right? Mine is almost 2 inches, and I'm a tiny 5'2 person with small everything. I definitely wouldn't consider my forehead to be large - it is in proportion with everything else. I think people with a forehead smaller than an inch would be more likely to be considered freakish, lol. IP: Logged |

Ok, now you've got me measuring *my* forehead. Mine is about 2 inches (above eyebrows to hairline). I'm a fairly small person too. Well, I never thought to measure my forehead before. Looks like either you have an average size forehead or the folks on this board are all freaks. lol IP: Logged |

I think your forehead is normal. I agree with the PS that you're being vain. Look at all the famous people with large foreheads. Like Tyra Banks, she's got a clingon looking forehead, at least 3 inches. But that doesn't stop her from being a top super model for Victoria Secret. Or Director Ron Howard's brother, he sorta looks like a caveman. He's been in alot of movies and his married. Every body has something about themselves that they don't like. But the majority of us have learned to accept our flaws, because we're the only ones who actually make a big deal of it. IP: Logged |

wow thats a really good point...i guess your comment stuck out the most cuz its been my lifelong dream to be a model (but with my spots i doubt that will happen.) however, theres a dr in indiana who does forehead reduction, and im moving to indiana in the next few months, so...just my personal opinion i think id be happiest with a forehead atleast 4/5" smaller. its just been my feelings since i was about 5. thanks tho. BTW do you know how much forehead reduction is? i got in a really bad car accident in january so i have scars on my forehead if reduction could be used to remove them would the drivers insurance cover the cost? if it wont probly around $3-4K right? Freak of nature - I feel badly calling you that but anyway how in the heck do you reduce your forehead? A brow lift if non-invasive so it doesn't require major skin removal, mostly pulling and tugging up. Please do tell how to reduce a forehead and who is the Dr who does it in Indy? I know a couple of good surgeons here in Indy but whether they could do that procedure or not is the question. I doubt the scars would be removed unless a scar revision was done. IP: Logged |

I don't know the cost of the procedure. I did see a documentary on the TLC about plastic surgery. A man wanted to remove his "horns" or those bumps on his brow. The plastic surgeon charged him $20,000 for it. He couldn't afford it all upfront, so he financed it. So i'm assuming your forehead reduction would cost around there. ![]() IP: Logged |

Perfect10- I dont remember the guys name but go to AltaVista.com and type "forehead reduction" with the quotes, and he will be the only matching result. gwle- holy sh*t thats like what its gonna cost to go to college! f**k that! you know last night i realized something incredible about my forehead, you all are gonna lock me in a psych ward for saying this, but...if my forehead gets shortened i am afraid of losing my psychic ability. its weak, but its there. when ppl point at my forehead i can *feel* it, like a burning and tingling at the same time, i did that to myself, and i could make the pain form a circle and then a pentacle. i was like, WOW. so, i don't think im gonna get it reduced just b/c of that. thanks for your help every1.
