I've been trying to lose some weight since I had my kids, and I lose 5 lbs. and I need to lose 20, but the 5 lbs. keep coming back, I don't get it! I try and try, but it just won't budge!!:confused HELP!

Sticking to meat and fat works for me. If I've eaten a lot of junk I do a fat fast for 1-3 days with coconut oil (healthy, natural and raw) to clean me out then stick to mostly meat and fat and 20-40 carbs (this number is different for everybody) from healthy foods, a little fruit with breakfast and a salad with non-starchy veggies.

I wish I only had 5 pounds to lose, I've got to take off about 10-15 myself, but it's quick, easy and guarunteed if I stick to this eating plan.

I have come to the painful realization that I cannot have cheat foods at all because they trigger failure. Things with grain and sugar or just too many carbohydrates cause a craving for more that just doesn't go away, the only way is not to have those high-carb foods at all.

Drinking plenty of water helps too. I am drinking about 3 quarts a day.

I would recommend cutting out some carbs, perhaps have more meat instead of bread and see if that helps. When there is an over-abundance of carbs in your body, you will just burn that instead of fat.

Not true. I'm sure you've seen it advised to exercise in the morning before breakfast, because the body's glycogen stores are depleted during the night. Now, if our bodies could store THAT MUCH glycogen, a night's sleep wouldn't deplete it.

My posts haven't been working lately.. hopefully this one will. Then I'll just edit it. and write my post though the edit.
Goody it worked!!!

I needed to lose 15lbs. and I did.

Started drinking more water and replacing my minerals with mineral based sea/salt. 1/4 teas. per quart.
I found 'Redmonds', needs to have lots of minerals in the label.

(If you have high Blood pressure or heart disease. Just go slow on increasing the water, make sure your getting rid of as much as you are taking in, and use alittle salt on foods only.)

Then I went on the 'carohydrates addicts diet', the new revised one, where you shouldn't have any MSG, these make you crave the foods with MSGs in them. Once a day you get a reward meal, in the book it tells you how to eat that. It really did work and I felt much better than when I tried the Atkins diet. I did the Atkins diet for 2 weeks, first. It really messed with my blood testing.

I got the book at the Library, you could do a search on 'carbohydrates addict diet'

I lost that 15 lbs. and have kept it off with just the water and salt, and not too many fatty sugar foods, for 178 days. Lowered my cholesterol too. All my lipid numbers are good now. And my skin looks great from all the water and supplements I take.

Make sure you get your iodine, daily if you do the water and mineral sea/salts, also some daily potassium, and Magnesium citrate(twice a day). I take a daily amway vitamin. and Chromium too, the book recommended chromium in the morning on an empty stomach.

Good luch on your diet. Diana

Believe me, if you're eating too many carbohydrates you will not burn fat. I know this from personal experience so I know what I'm talking about!

drs, what does adding the salt do?? Is it because of drinking so much water your body gets rid of the salt or something?? Will eating alot of sunflower seeds do the same thing, cuz I know they sure have alot of salt!! What does the Mag. citrate do? I take Herbalife & they have all sorts of vits & minrls (also has magnsm, but don't know about the citrate). Thanks for any advice. TAURI

Well for one your bones hold most of the salt content in the body. Your sweat is salty, your tears are salty, mucus is salty,.....but, it's not the kind of salt that is in chips or sunflower seeds The sea/salt is closer to what the body has in it already, like natures type of salt vs man made. Sodium cloride is a reg. table salt. It does not replace the minerals being flushed out with lots of water. You need to replace your minerals, that why I take the mineral sea/salt. Do a search on 'watercure' see if you come up with something from a dr. batman.

If you don't replace the right kind of salt in your body it leaches from the bones eventually. This will keep you hydrated much better than just water and plain table salt.

Magnesium citrate is a water soluble type of mag. it's much easier for the body to use. It does lots of things:

Go to the 'Thyroid board'

Then go to the post called'Information Archive'

Go to page #2 and scroll down till you get to the article about water soluble Magnesium.

Then if you have time, go on to page #3 and read about Maca. Since you've had a baby recently it might be something you want to check out too.

Be careful on doubling up on things that are in your herbal life supplements though. Pehaps you could give this type of diet a try instead for a couple months. Just to be on the safe side. Also chromium is a good metablizer too. My hubby takes it and so do I. In the morn. with no food. Helps with the energy level when your not eating a bunch of carbs. or refined sugars. Did you do a search on the 'carbohydrates addict' diet? Check that out too.

Sorry this is so chatty hope I didn't confuse you, Diana

"Sticking to meat and fat works for me."

I've had the best results just watching calories. If I'm hungry, I eat. But I eat healthy and lower calorie foods. I'm vegetarian so it's a little easier. :P I've never understood avoiding carbs - if I didn't eat bread/pasta/grains, I'd be starving all the time and eat all other foods in sight!

My best diet tip: ALWAYS eat when you're hungry. Just don't go nuts with it. Dieting doesn't work - change your lifestyle. Never expect or want to eat like you did when you were too heavy.
