OK, I'm a 5'9" 210 pound male, who is looking for exercises that will help me lose weight in the following areas: one I got some big "love handles" and the worst of all big "man boobs" I am very pear shaped (this is not a joke). Ok here is the catch I have no money for equipment, drugs, or a gym. I have started a diet and lost 4 pounds in a week, plus I am drinking more water then I have ever wanted to, but I would like to know some exercises I could do that would help along side the diet. I searched for free exercise sites but found nothing. Could someone please describe some helpful exercises or hints in general, oh yeah I do have dumb bells. IP: Logged |

If you are looking to lose fat, you need to start doing cardio activity at least 3 times a week. If you have only dumbells, there are still numerous muscle building exercises you can do. Chest/pecs: flat, incline and reverse incline barbell presses, pushups. Back: 1 arm dumbell rows, bent-over raises. Shoulders: lateral raises, overhead dumbell presses, Arnold presses. Bicep: preacher curls, hammer curls, concentration curls. Tricep: skullcrushers, kickbacks, dips. For legs, it's a little harder, since you obviously have no opposable thumbs down there to grip a dumbell, but for lifts, you can hold a dumbell between your ankles and lift the legs up. There is a site that requires a login (but is free) that has excellent information and step-by-step pictures on how to properly do each of these and many more. Mail me off list and I'll send you the link: impetus0@hotmail.com Naxis IP: Logged |

Traditionally, the way about getting fit is build muscle first than lose fat. But in your scenerio, based on what it seems you're looking for, I would suggest that you lose fat first. Now, you say you have no money for a gym, drugs, etc. That is perfectly fine. You will eventually have the motivation to save up for a gym membership once you enjoy the rewards of a healthy lifestyle. But in the meantime, there are many things you can do to shape up. I do stairwells at work, 2 flights followed by a couple minutes walking and repeat this for an hour or so. Sometimes I change it up by skipping rope for 50 or so jumps followed by two minutes walking etc. The trick is to get your heart rate up with an excercise that is a little bit vigorous (like jumping rope or climbing a couple flights of stairs) and then to keep it there with moderate excercise like walking or stationary bike riding or something. You can walk or jumprope almost anywhere. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Ok, anyone can just tell you to do a set amount of push-ups, situps, crunches ect. but you've probably searched the internet looking for the right routines and finally came here to find something that works. NOT ALL WORKOUTS are for everyone. The thing with working out, it has to be something planned out for you. I really recommend the Body For Life program, I found myself in your situation a few months ago, it's really easy to adjust to your situation, but ultimately if you want to see a drastic transformation you will have to join a gym.
