Hey everyone. Can you tell me the difference between the different types of exercise, like aerobic, anaerobic, cardio-vascular, etc..etc... I've heard all these different terms and really don't know the differences. Thanks.

Aerobic literally means "with air", so it's any exercise where the muscles have a constant flow of oxygen going to them, examples are running or riding a bike.

Anaerobc means without air. it's an exercise where during one part the muscles have to function without oxygen. Examples are weightlifting and sprinting.

Cardiovascular execise means exercising the heart, it's the same as aerobic.

the general difference between cardio and aerobic is intensity and duration. While in the literal sense, they are pretty much the same, aerobics tend to be lower intensity standing routines while when someone says they are doing cardio, it is generally running, biking or something high intensity for 20 minutes or more.
