Hi,

I'm in pretty good shape but I was just wondering what exercises people do for their stomachs...I do the basics like situps but I wanted to add some variation to my routine.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

Hi
What i do (well, have done twice, and i'm going to keep doing them soon, i think...) is normal situps, but when i reach the maximum point of contraction (about half way up), i pause there for 3 seconds, tensing my abs as hard as possible. Then, i lower back down and repeat until failure. After this, stretch your abs a bit, then immediately go onto normal situps until failure. Have a 60-90 second rest while stretching your abs again, and do the same thing for crunches.

You should really feel the burn, and in total, should have done 4 exercises. You can also just tense your stomach muscles as hard as possible for 6 seconds. If you do this, your abs should get firmer and look better
Good luck
Peter
