I don't care for it myself. I still prefer our free weights. I am female and my husband loves the Crossbow. He swears by it. He was doing some band exercises before we bought it and I don't like the bands either. It took us over 4 hours to put it together in addition to an hour of just separating and labeling parts! I a wanted to get the bowflex also, but my husband bought me the crossbow instead. It is awesome and alot cheaper. I love it, and it is a great investment. I also got a mail in rebate when we got it for an extra free 100lbs. IP: Logged |

I have no experience with the bowflex. I have seen them and there are a lot of parts. Puly, wires and such. I do have a Soloflex and have owned one for almost 20 years. This machine is bulletproof! It can be used with weight plates instead of the bands if you wish. It is not like going to the gym and using free weights, but it is a second best. I could not recommend it more strongly! Best of all. It is a simple machine. Not a lot of parts and simple to put together Takes up a 4x4 foot space. IP: Logged |

I despise the bowflex. My parent bought one a few years ago, and my dad has been trying to get me to "give it a try" instead of the freeweights that I've been using. I tried it. Hated it. I would never recommend it to anyone, unless the only other alternative is to not do anything at all. IP: Logged |

Yay! I went into Fitness Depot today and they had a Bowflex model on the floor (along with numerous other fitness supplies). I really like the way the bowflex moves (very smooth) and its so lightweight and easy to move. The bowflex is also relatively cheap too (only 1200 CDN). I also got to try a compact eliptical trainer out, that was awsome as well but only $700 CDN. IP: Logged |

Funny, I went into Fitness Depot too and tried it, then tried a traditional cable gym. It was no comparison, the bowflex seemed totally flimsy in comparison. The sales guy didn't seem to crazy about the bowflex either. The guy said the bows don't offer consistent resistance like a cable gym. I don't have space for a cable gym, but he showed me a bench and dumbbells, and I realized I could do it all with just that alone. He saved me $800!! Thank god you can try the bowflex in a store now rather than having to order and then return it. Anybody who compares it to real equipment would see it is no better than a Weider Gym from Sears. I am not impressed wiht the bowflex or crosbow. Most likely they will bacome just something else to dust in your house. Women-- you should be doing cardio, not weight so much wieght lifting. Men-- You should be going to a gym. Theres no way you can do all the things you need to do on one machine. a 3 year gym membersip would cost around the same anyway! They are rip offs and I would stear clear from them. IP: Logged |
