I am 42 years old, and in the perimenopause. I have recently been thoroughly checked by gyno docs, endo docs (thyroid), general mds...etc...nothing shows up on my tests for anything wrong, no anemia, no nothing......but i constantly get sick with either stomach or intestinal viruses, or colds, feel no energy, and tired alot...I look pale and somewhat yellow...My doctor says nothing is wrong with my liver.....i am losing weight but not much. I am 5'4. I normally weigh 118 and in the last 3 years have lost 18 of those pounds....still losing but not drastically, even though i eat fairly well. I try to eat at least 5 small meals throughout the day and i take vitamins...Please help me someone, because my doctors tell me nothing...I am concerned because i dont want to go on like this..I feel bad...

What you need is a full workup. Get your doctor to admit you to a good hospital like a university hospital. They usually have the latest, greatest methods for evaluation. You will be poked, prodded and scanned. They'll take samples of pretty much every thing you have. You'll be seen by many doctors. But, one doctor will oversee everthing.

The important thing is to not wait to get it done. If you get your problem diagnosed now, it will probably be treated as an outpatient illness. You wait till things get much worse and you could be in for a long stay.

I don't have a good feeling about your current general practictioner. For a person in your condition, there should be immediate demands for testing in very rapid order until the cause of your problem is determined. If your doctor doesn't respond to your needs, it's time for a new doctor.

Hello and thanks for responding. You mentioned to get a complete workup, but i have tried desperately to tell my doctors to do this, but they said since all the blood tests come back negative, etc...that they didnt think it was necessary. Other docs? Oh dear, i have gone to just about every doctor, and i am now fresh out of docs who will really do something. I am suspecting Helicobacter pylori in my stomach..I am going to keep looking for more doctors that i havent seen, but they are beginning to be of no use to me.
