I switched to Dilitiazem XR a month ago from Lotrel (worked well on lowering BP, but the cough got me). It appears to be working OK, my running has approved (Lotrel slowed me down). I'm going to 240Mg monday as I'm still a little high 145/85-135/80 and I know my dose is low. Does anyone have any comments about the drug? any problems? I'm happy so far, but it took 4 months for me to develope the infamous ACE cough from the lotrel and I'm looking for a heads up.
Thanks

I take Verapamil, which is also a calcium channel blocker. I've been on CCB's for nearly 17 years, and have had very few problems with them.

The one thing I've found is that, if you've already got gastroesophageal reflux, the CCB's can make it worse. Other than that, no problems at all.
