Four days ago, I was diagnosed with a middle ear infection in my right ear. My doctor put me on Augmentin.

The next day, a bloody pus started dripping out of the affected ear, and continued to do so for almost 24 hours. I was very worried and returned to the doctor, who told me that this was perfectly normal.

Even though the symptoms of the ear infection are pretty much gone, I have had a constant rining in my right ear for about three days now. My hearing in this ear is very muffled, and I still have a feeling of fullness in my ear.

I don't know if I should be worried and rush back to the doctor to make sure my hearing doesn't get permanently damaged. Or should I finish my course of antibiotics (six more days) and seeing if my problems go away?

I would appreciate any input / experiences anybody can share.

Finish the anitbiotics. When the pus started draining that may have been a sign that your eardrum ruptured. For the feeling of fullness in your ear you might want to try sudafed to see if this help. Hopefully as your ear heals and the infection totally clears things will start sounding better. If not go back to the doc and then request an appointment with an ENT doc.
