Can anyone tell me how I could reduce chest fat? Since I am a male, this is very embarrassing for me; I do work out everyday, but will this have any effect on my chest fat?

Gynecomastia is an enlargement of the male breasts it looks like a woman's breast and the reason is a hormonal imbalance. This condition effects 85 percent of teenage boys and 10 to 15 percent will still have it after puberty. It also affects 75 percent of men over the age of 60. See your doctor. Diet may help but in a lot of cases surgery is performed.

The only way to do this is to start a cardio routine. Start walking every day, then slowly add a jog to the walk. Keep adding more and more jogging until you are jogging the whole way. Then start adding a sprint to your jog...and etc. etc.

Lifting weights will have no effect on your chest fat, although it will tone the area and lift what needs to be lifted.

Make sure you eat lots of protein too! That's my rule and drink water!!!

Thanks!! I'll follow your advice about jogging. I do drink a lot of water, but I drink a lot of soda too! Will that have a negative effect, or is it ok to drink some from time to time?

You can eat or drink whatever you want. But, if you want optimal results I would deffinatly cut out all of the soda. If you can't live w/out it then try and switch to diet. Think about this...each mile you run you burn about 130 calories (the acctual amount depends on your weight and speed, but this is about avg.).....so....if you come home from a run and drink a can of soda then you just put back 100 of the calories you just burned. Which is pretty much defeating the purpose, huh? If you make yourself go without the soda for a few weeks you won't even want it anymore. Give it a try-go w/out soda for 2 weeks and then drink one just to see how you feel. You probably won't drink them so much anymore after that, because believe me they make you feel pretty crummy when you don't drink them all of the time. Well, Good luck!!

Thanks for the tip. I usually have on and off periods as far as soda is concerned. This time I'll try to make is more permanent than it usually gets.

Study after study has shown that diet soda can actually cause MORE weight gain than regular soda. I'm a personal believer of this as well, since I have a few over-weight family members, ALL of which drink diet drinks and have active lifestyles... but don't loose the weight. I, on the other hand, am a bit above my expected weight and I drink nearly a twelve pack of sodas (non-diet) per day! Studies have shown that a chemical used in diet drinks will STOP process of weight loss in the human body (don't take my word for it... do the research on the web). Regular drinks, however, although having more calories do not! Also, most people drink diet drinks with NO CAFFEINE! I admit, caffeine isn't good for you on a continuous basis... but it does speed up your metabolism. So, the best thing to do, I suppose, would be to STOP drinks sodas ALL TOGETHER! If you can get by the withdrawal symptoms of caffeine (which are a pain, and lasts a few weeks), then it's all downhill from there! But, as a software developer, sodas have become my companion... and I don't think I could give it up SO easily.

Do tons of bench press and other chest exercises. Also do some cardio, like running, swimming, ect.

Remember low weight with high reps burns fat tones muscel

while low reps with lots of weight build muscel

doing like 40lbs and as many reps as you can with about 4 or 5 sets bench pressing will target the beast and burn fat.

If you lift like 150lbs 10 times you will build muscel.

I have a similar problem but i didn't get it until 46+ in age. It blew me away. I started gaing weight in my chest, under my arms, and in my breast area.

I've found that chest exercises helps tone this area tremendously!!!!!!!!I'm speakiing of the modern work out equipment now in places such as "Bally Fitness Centers".

A personal trainer my be healthful if you can spend a few bucks for 4/5 sessions. Then, once you know the perfect exercises for this, then go for it yourself.

Lastly, walking and swimming is good for overall toning.

Nothing makes you lose weight more than intake of foods. In other words, exercise is more of a toner. Food intake is what makes you lose. But, remember, some peoples weight whether skinny, medium or fat or fatter, is determined not so much by what you eat or how much you do or don't eat, but rather on your genectics. And this we can do nothing about about but just do the best we can.

Plastic surgery sounds fine. I've thought about it, but I think it is best to do what we have suggested to you. Why pay a plastic surgeon 3/4 thousands dollars to make your chest flat like it was before you became middle-age. I assume you are older.

Exercise will help lose fat. There is no exercise for losing fat in any particular area of the body.

You should go see an endocrinologist. He/She can have a series of male/female blood tests done to determine your hormone levels. You may have low testosterone & high female hormone levels.

This will cause the large breasts, gynecomastia, & body fat seems to help produce more female hormones in males.

Testosterone suppliments are available by prescription for men or boys with low levels.

Testosterone will not remove or reduce the large breasts. It may slow or stop the growth. It is available by injection or body rub-on gel. The AndroGel is much more expensive, about $140 per month.

It helps in the muscle mass, depression, self attitude, & sexual interest.

I have size "C" breasts & they are fully female sexually sensitive. No cosmetic surgery for me.

Surgery cost from $3000 to $7000 each time it has to be done. It is not always a one time operation.

Check out "gynecomastia, gynecomastia2, & gynecomastia3 on the internet for more interaction & discussion with groups of males with breasts.

There are millions of us if you will just notice as you walk theough the malls or work place.

Good luck,

G
