I have heard the skin around the eyes are a sign of the condition of the kidneys and adrenals. I heard if they are dark there is some congestion in the kidney. Do y'all have dark or copperish circles like a racoon or panda? This is a serious question. Thanks. IP: Logged |

In terms of Western medicine, this does not relate to anything and can just be signs of tiredness. There is no need to worry about this. In some people it is normal. I have dark circles under my eyes to varying degrees at times and I am in very good health and at my last blood work up, my Creatinnine - an indicator of renal function was well within normal limits. No renal problems at all. However, in Chinese medicine, the area under the eyes relates to the Bladder Meridian and can be indicative of a Kidney weakness, as in the Chinese Five Element Theory, the Kidney and the Bladder are the paired organs on the Water Element. The Kidneys in TCM are also to do with fear. If you have no other signs and symptoms and only the rings under the eyes, then I would definitely recommend that you go and have a course of Traditional Acupuncture to see. It is always possible that you do have low Kidney energy somewhere. If nothing else, it will make you feel more relaxed and give you greater sense of well being. Good luck IP: Logged |

a friend of mine used to have dark circles around/under her eyes contantly..she was diagnosed a couple of years ago with diabetes and hypothyroid..after starting the meds her dark circles disappeared..you might want to get a blood test to check all of your levels..good luck ![]() IP: Logged |
