Sorry- spelt libido wrong!

Hi Guys,

This is a rather personal and embarassing question, but I am being genuine in wanting advice.

I'm 36 and married - 5 years.

I had a vasectomy last year and have noticed that my desire for sex/making love has diminished (I think it had started to before then).

I don't know whether it is the vasectomy or just age. I have a demanding professional job and do get very tired, but sometimes I just can't get an erection or it doesn't last long. I have been working nights for about 3 years now.

Other times it's fine. My wife likes sex at least 4 times per week but I'm finding that too much. Does this happen to any other guys or am I alone with this?

We've tried spiking up the sex life but that doesn't help either.

When I read male mags they seem to suggest that men have a hard-on at the drop of a hat!

I looked at info' on the web about vasectomy and it frightened me stiff (excuse the pun!) because some research suggested that a vas' can reduce testosterone? Should I get tested at the docs for this? I don't know what to do really but it's sure bugging me. Can any other guys offer any advice please.

I also notice that I pass urine more than I used to- that could be age related?

I guess what I'm asking is: are all you guys rock hard at every opportunity? If so, what should I do?

Thanks a lot,

Mark.

ask your Dr. for tertosterone level test. It is a simple blood test and not expensive. "Normal" levels are between 300-1000..
If your levels are low, then they'll have to see why, and thses tests are a bit more involved. The good news is that if they find low levels and you are healty, then HRT works very well.

I had the same issue (at 50) and it was more then just libito, it is overall feeling of "well being", energy levels, mood, etc. The decline of hormon level over the years is so slow that you can not recognize it.

Do yourself a favor and go see your Dr.

MMaarrkk, I've been married 12 years. You're not alone in the "I'm too tired... and isn't that wierd?" category. I was seemingly chronically horny before I was married... and then when all the opportunity was there, I found that my busy lifestyle got in the way all the time.

Normally, the few times during the year when everything's right, there's no problem in satisfying intercourse. (Four times a week!!! WOW! I'm more like twice a month.) But there have been at least one or two occasions where I was too tired to ejaculate.... the old in and out just wasn't going to do it.

If you compare yourself to how you were as a younger man, you'll not compare favourably usually... except in character, wisdom, and number of good friends.

HRT Hormone Replacement Therapy

I've also read some negative stuff about vasectomies so I didn't get one. It's really messing with mother nature although everyone thinks it's just a little snip.

Don't believe the men's magazines. Everyone is unique in their libido and one's health, fitness level, relationships, stress etc. all affect a persons desire level. One guy may be content with one orgasm a week another five. 3 times a week in your 30's would be about average, I'd quess.

Best to get a physical and check out testosterone levels, cholesterol and blood glucose (for diabetes)

Working nights also really messes with your natural cycle, the circadian rhythm and can cause lethargy, sleep disruption and libido loss.

We also can't expect to perform as we once did. In our 30's we wish we could do it as we did in our 20's. In our 40's like our 30's and on and on. Reality must be accepted.

I think tup is right when we start messing around with mother nature, we're asking for trouble. Just a snip huh yeah ok...I dont agree with getting one either. I too at time feel a little bit tired, I think we all do, I think the worse thing is when the heart and mind have the desire but the equipment doesnt share the same feelings, you guys know what I mean. I have been wanting to try testroGel its suppose to be something similar to androgel and you dont need prescription for it, GNC and vitamin shoppe carry it. Well this is all for now...

If you can buy it at GNC, chances are it's not going to have much effect. If you're looking to raise T-levels, which in turn enhances energy, tHere are other supplements like tribulus, ZMA, etc. that are supposed to work also. There are mixed reviews about this. Might be worth a try. Also, prohormones like 1-AD are a hot item right now. I've had limited success with these. Another possible choice.
