i know this may have been asked before but...

i just got prescribed celexa 10mg, for panic disorder. I have been on zoloft for two years and am experiencing major problems so i am off it . i was wondering, many medications i took were awful for the first week, increased attacks, dilated puples, crazy dizziness , etc.

does this happen with celexa. as it happened to me with three other medications

I was given Celexa to treat my depression. I did not experience any noticeable side effects from it. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me!

I think you're feeling withdrawal effects of coming off the previous med you were taking and not the effects of the new drug. You just have to be tough and ride it out- because it will go away. BUT- if you're just starting these drugs I would HIGHLY suggest trying out some other methods of treatment. I have been on these drugs for over 13 years. Between the weigt gain and a bunch of other side effects that you'll notice right away- not to mention the ones you don't notice until later on into treatment...it's just not worth it. I know it sounds crazy because everything is so hard without them- but it feels to me like these drugs cause addition "head" problems- among other things- so you end up with even more to deal with.

I was put on it for post partum depression after having my twins, and that helped tremendously. At that point i didn't feel any side effects.
Recently i have decided to go back on it, after off for about 8-12 months, and now i am restless with minor headaches. I just don't know if that is me being a restless type person or the medication.
I do know that you have to give it that intial time to get use to it.
