My sister and I were talking a couple of weeks ago and she told me that she had stopped taking Aspertame in any food or drink because of all of the warnings and info from web sites she has read about. She encouraged me to go to any search engine and type in Aspertame and start reading. After I did, I decided on my own to stop drinking diet pop, etc. Within two days, my night time foot pain, pins and needles etc., had decreased DRAMATICALLY!! It is week 2 and still hardly any night time pain and the day time numbness seems to be slightly better. Just curious if anyone has ever related these two and wanted to spread the word in case it helps others from this horrible night time problem. Let me know! Margo

Aspartame has also been linked to liver disease and neurological problems. This was first established in the early '80s. The argument for allowing aspartame on the market was that only adults would consume it in large quantities, or on a regular basis. Clearly this is not true since many children consume diet pop and diet foods daily.

You may want to look up ALA [alpha-lipoic acid], EFAs [essential fatty acids] and Vitamin B complexes. ALA is in clinical trials in Europe to determine its effectiveness in controlling neuropathy among diabetics. Both the VitBs and EFAs are involved in neuromuscular activity/signalling. Dosages depend on many things such as your overall health/condition, gender, age, weight, etc.

Yes I also read about aspartame dangers.
I read it can give symptoms similar to multiple sclerosis, plus a barage of other health problems.
STAY AWAY from it.
