Hi there,
I'm' new to this board, so I'll just fill you in a bit. I used to self harm, but i stopped about a year a go thank god (and my thoughts goes out to everyone on this board who still needs that help cause i know just how horrible it makes you feel). But i now have bad scars on my legs. I had to stop on my arms could well it was more obvious but i am now really worried someone will see them and ask and i just get so embarrased when people look at them. they're not that bad really, i just really hate them. i was wondering whether anybody had any ways to get rid of the scars. I've heard of this mederma, but I live in the UK so I'm' not sure whether they'll sell it here. Is there any side effects to it or anything?
thanx alot
love
kat

i dont' know of much that'll work... sorry. but i know that for me, i had some pretty awful scars on my arms. i still have a few. but within the past year (since i've stopped), they've faded dramatically.

good luck in finding something that'll work!

Hmmm, i know there's lots of creams and such at Walmart or the local drugstore (Not sure what the main store is called in the UK. Sorry). But if you go to a local drugstore, where you get perscriptions, then you could go to the people that work there and ask if there's an over the counter medication that helps get rid of scars. Though, i'm fairly certain most of them are meant for being put there right when you get the wound. But try the drugstore, they might have some things.

ive found that within time, scars fade. i was going on the sunbeds after my cuts had healed cuz i seriously needed a tan and they went slightly darker at first and then when my tan went slightly, so did my scars. the scars were done about 4-5 months ago and now you can only just tell i have scars there.

so dont worry, they'll fade with time!

the savlon cream usually helps scars as well... or so ive heard. dunno if its true or not.
