Rebecca: I had a gastric bypass (open RNY) in January of 1999. I've lost 105 pounds. I run a Yahoo club called "After Weight Loss Surgery". There are lots of places on the web to learn about gastric bypasses (there are several kinds but RNY is the best procedure). I've posted my club's URL below.
Feel free to join, we specialize in post-op support, but welcome all who are interested. One thing I'll tell you is I'm here because I am still concerned about weight gain. I'm 10 pounds from my goal and it's a tough ten pounds. I also have issues with overeating. Weight loss surgery can work, but it's a tool, not a complete solution. You have to watch your nutrition and do some exercise, too. And stress related overeating or compulsive overeating doesn't seem to go away. I'd chose to do it again, tho. It helped me and many others.
: I would like to speak with some one who has had the procedure. I would like to know there dislikes and likes about the procedure. I would like to know the side efects and any complcations, you experienced. Please email me to the email address above. Pleaseonly email me if you have infomation.
: Thank You
