: : : : : I just noticed your post below--You are doing wonderful. I can't believe how wonderful this diet is and you don't need pills. I have tried everything and this is the only thing that I have ever been able to stay on . Great job--keep on losing and best of luck. Ray
: : : : Great job Ray. I've been watching your progress on here. Keep doing what you are doing. I have been preaching the low carb way of life on here also. I have read a slew of books that just confirm Atkins low carb philosophy; Protein Power, Diet Evolution, Neanderthin, Dr. Bernsteins Diabetes Solution, Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, The Ketogenic Diet, etc. Alan S.
: : : Hi Alan--can you tell me the author of the book called Neanderthin? I saw the man on telivision and want to buy the book Thanks Ray
: : I read several postings on this site three weeks ago, mostly by Ray and have been on the diet ever since. I have lost 13 pounds. I started at 374 and am 40 year old male. The greatest thing I have found is that the first time in my life I have without trying lost the urge for sweets (diet soda now tastes sweet). My appetite has really mellowed. Today I forgot to eat until supper. You don't get over 370 lbs and 5'8" by passing on sweets and missing meals. I am convinced this will be my lifestyle diet.
: : I do have a question for those experienced with adkins. Can I do Pizza hut if I don't eat the bread? It should be moz. cheese and meat? Or am I being decieved.

: The only problem with eating the toppings is the sauce has a fair amount of sugar. So make sure the rest of your day is lower carb than usual. I order Pizza hut too, but I get pesto sauce with Sausage and Onions. Yum! However, my family gets upset when they see the "wasted" pizza crust! LOL
When I did Atkins a few years ago, I had the same reaction from people when there would be some pizza purchased for the staff -- I'd scrape off the toppings and leave the crust (yes, with most of the tomato sauce left behind). It was a lifesaver in an office environment loaded with daily donuts and gallons of coffee.
