Hey, I too have struggled with an eating disorder. I am what they call a binge or closet eater. My trouble times are when I am stressed or just bored. I do not even have to be hungry to eat! If it is not nailed down, then I eat it. I have gained a lot of weight, about 90 pounds and have tried everything to lose it. I joined Weight Watchers with a friend of mine after I saw the results she was getting.(She lost 60 pounds and looks great) It has only been a week, but I lost 4 pounds my first week. And it has been so easy, they have this points system which eliminates the whole counting calories and fat grams. There is no forbidden food, I even had pizza and a piece of cake last week and still lost. I have found the journaling really helps. Just knowing that I have to write down everyting I put into my mouth has helped me keep some control over my eating. I weigh in again on Sunday, so I will let you know how I made out this week. Weight Watchers has a website www.weightwatchers.com which gives you a lot of information about the program, meeting places, times and cost. I find the group meeting and talking to people with the same problems I have does help. Also, I like it cause there is no pills, shakes or special food. You do not have to eat their food.
