: It is a sugar substitute. How does it taste?
It's OK, there are some good Splenda flavoring syrups from Da Vinci [also on the web]. It is useful for low carb diets. Frankly, it tastes best if you add a little fructose or vanilla or both. The non-sucrose sweeteners all seem to benefit from a small addition of vanilla extract or fructose. I have seen studies in England that cravings were reduced and weight lost by wearing a patch with vanilla extract. Simple alternative: buy a small bottle for as low as $1.00 at an off-price store and leave it open in an inconspicuous place near your desk or wherever you hang out. This could have an effect without having to purchase overpriced scented bandaids from rabid multilevel marketers next year. By the way, I'm new and very heavy. I had eclampsia with my first child and was left with a 70-pound weight gain and a 22-ounce baby girl. Is there a group for people with a lot to lose? I would welcome anyone's comments.
