: Hi everyone!

: I tried this diet, and it worked great for me. I read it on one of the magazines. Here it is:

: Breakfast:
: 1/2 of grapefruit or 3/4 glass of grapefruit juice
: 2 strips of bacon cooked anyway you want
: 2-10 eggs cooked anyway you want.

: Lunch:
: 1/2 of grapefruit or 3/4 glass of grapefruit juice
: Meat (any kind you want, cooked anyway you want, and eat it as much as you want)
: Salad (as much as you want)

: Dinner
: 1/2 of grapefruit or 3/4 glass of grapefruit juice
: Meat (any kind you want, cooked anyway you want, and eat it as much as you want)
: Salad (as much as you want)
: Vegetables (as much as you want, no white vegetables allowed (I assume it is potatoes).

: Bedtime snack:
: 1 glass of tomato juice OR 1 glass of skim milk.

: You follow the same menu for 10 days. For the first 5 days you can experience no weight loss at all, but on the 5th day you can drop up to 5 lbs. Then, on average, you lose 1 lb per day. I did not stay longer than 10 days on this diet.

: Remember these things:

: * drink 6-8 glasses per day.
: * No oil is allowed
: * No other food than described above is allowed (ex, no croutons with salad)
: * you can have 1 cut of coffee or tea with the meal, but they slow down the burning process. No sugar!

: Good luck everyone!

This is just basically a low carb diet such as prescribed in "Protein Power". Skip the grapefruit and/or juice and you will lose more fat. Note that most of that initial 10 lbs will be water, which is not necessarily a bad thing since most people retain too much water anyway and it will help to lower your blood pressure. After the initial week or so and initial water loss, you can expect to lose approximately 1 pound per week (the more you have to loose the faster it will come off) - maybe 2 lbs one week, 0 the next, but on average about 1 lb per week of permanent fat loss if you stick to it and make it a permanent way of life. However, if you go back to your old eating habits after that 10 days you can expect to gain back that 10 pounds in fairly short order and maybe an extra pound or two of fat. It happens all the time.
