: : I finally gave up on weight loss jokes and promises in magazines and newspapers. They did not work for me. I finally bought the Atkins book and have managed to get through the worst of it. Three weeks now past the induction part. Total weight loss is 23 1/2pounds according to the doctor office scales which always make you weigh more than at home. I feel good and I know I can do this one. All I can say is thanks to all of you that have posted on here about this diet. My nurse told me she has lost 72 pounds on this diet and I know she looks healthy. My clothes are a little loose but God does it ever feel good. This is the most weight I have ever lost in my entire life on any diet.. Thanks everyone for the courage I would not have had by myself. Good health to all of you that are dieting! Kerrie J.
: Congratulations Kerrie! You are definitely on the right track. If you get discouraged for whatever reason, I recommend that you get a copy of Dr. Eades "Protein Power" (It only costs about $6.00). After you read this you will realize that the low carb diet is the best and most healthy way to live. Alan S.
Hi Alan--thanks for the tip--I will buy this on my way home today. A guy at work told me to stay away from the diet pudding because it caused his weight loss to come to a hault for two months! I don't think I can take an eternity of jello for desert--any suggestions on what I can have when my family is celebrating special occasions? He had trouble with Carbolite candy bars also--any help about this subject? Christmas comes and I refuse to take a dive over home baked goodies--any safe alternativer--what do you eat for a treat when you are not at home?? HELP PLEASE!!!!
