I completely disagree with the previous statement that fat makes people fat. Without the hormone insulin present in the bloodstream, you lose your ability to store anything in your body fat. And what raises insulin levels? Carbohydrates. Cut out the non-essential carbohydrates and most people will lose fat. I eat a diet that is approximately 50% fat calories, 40% protein, and 10% carbohydrate, and I went from 220# to 180# and my waist went from 38" to 33". And I never have to count how many calories I eat in a day; all I do is avoid non-essential carbohydrates like sugars and ceral grains and eat all of the meat, cheese, eggs, fats, and low-starch vegetables that I want. It's easy, simple, and it works. Get a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution or Protein Power by Dr. Eades. Alan S.
