: I just turned 50 and am going through menopause. I am not taking hormone replacement therapy by choice - don't really need it for health reasons and all my friends that are on it have gained lots of weight so I decided not to go on it. I am 5 feet 4 inches and have always been around 120 pounds give or take a few pounds in either direction. My problem is that I have gained about 8 pounds since Spring and even though I exercise more than I ever used to (religiously) and watch my diet very closely (no junk food, lots of fruits and veggies, etc) I cannot seem to budge the tummy and hip fat that has suddenly appeared !! I have tried some of the pills with stimulants in them but I can't stand the heart racing that they give me (I am allergic to caffeine so have to be careful with that). Has anyone had any luck with the fat "zapping" pills that are supposed to "saok up fat" and are all the craze nowadays?? I saw one in a magazine that is called Redu-Quick. Has anyone tried it or any other brands?
Hi. I tried something called Fat Magnet that I bought at Walmart. A lot of times, it gave me the runs. I have lost 14 pounds doing a low fat diet. I eat a lot of salad, low fat yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, etc. It's not an exciting menu, but I really don't exercise and I still have lost 14 pounds. I also drink 80+ ounces of water per day. I hope this helps and good luck to you.
