The news is so behind. They act like this is something new! People have been taking PPA for years.. it's Dexatrim, Accutrim, Cough Medicines, etc. etc. If you abuse it, it can increase your risk for stroke, heart attack, blah blah. But if used in moderation, it helps lose weight. Wow! What a concept. If you abuse alcohol, it will kill you, if you use a little.. it helps circulation. Unbelievable! How about Acetaminophen?? A little makes everyone feel better. Too much is toxic and can kill babies.
Let's get a grip on reality people.. Everything in moderation. Do your homework before you put something in your body. I agree that 75mg of PPA in Dexatrim might be a little much. But there are other forms that are better and safer, such as the levo form, l-phenylpropanolamine.
Just because the big FDA says something is no reason to start crucifying products or ingredients. The FDA usually has a monetary motivation; they know who pays the bills. If they're so concerned, then there are a number of medications that should be pulled from the market.
Just my two cents. Believe what you want.
