I hope you feel as strongly about the government taking steps to ban the fat-burning herb ephedra and it's main active constituent, ephedrine. This ingredient (actually pseudoephedrine, more often) is also found in nasal decongestants and has been considered safe for years, but as soon as someone wants to use it for something "cosmetic" like weight loss the FDA gets its undies all tied up. I wish they would try and keep their nose out of everyone's business. The warnings that ephedra can cause heartattacks if taken in 10 times the stated amount should be clear on the label and the rest is up to the consumer. I don't need to be nursemaided in what herbal products I take; if someone wants this drug banned they are welcome to stop taking it for themselves. by the way I have yet to try ephedra but it is in a number of successful weight loss products. Also I think the world could do without PPA, but I'm not going to take steps to try and get it banned.
