: Does anyone have experience with success on the Carbohydrate Addicts diet who also have hypoglycemia. I have a severe problem with this and I am afraid of not having carbs in the morning, will I have my dizziness if there are no carbs? I have a friend who swears by this diet, but she was only moderately hypoglycemic. I need to lose 35 pounds, I keep gaining because I eat to keep my glucose up. The doctor says I am severely hypoglycemic which is probably preceding diabetes down the road soon. Help! I have had hypoglycemia for many years. And the one thing I know is regardless of what doctors and friends tell you, each person reacts differently to the disease. I have it, my dad has it and my daughter has it. We have been through the glucose tolerance testing (I've had the 8 hour test three times in my life-at 17, 28 & 35). I need the carbs. I have been almost completely carb free before and it just doesn't help me. I've tried the adkins diet and in less than a week I was having dizzy spells worse than ever. I have a friend with mild hypoglycemia and she did fine with the diet. I've only found that I must eat something every couple hours and it needs to be something with carbs, but I try to keep the real heavy sugars and fats as low as possible.
