: : help? I have had BV for 8 years on and off, treating it over and over again with antibiotics. this clears it away but it returns again. i am finding this is pre-mentrusal and it is getting me down. anybody out there got any advise on how to destroy this infection for good.
: I also use to have BV for about a year and a half- I would also take the medication and after 4-5 months it would come back and I was so depressed about this and the potential long term effects of the antibiotics- because they are not benign drugs. well I read from this message board someone had posted and to this day I am so grateful for the information that she gave me since I no longer have this problem. She said to use 100% cotton folded cloth during your periods and not pads or tampons and also not to wear underwear at night. It worked like a charm. Good Luck.
Several things to consider. #1 if you are sexually active or married you can transmit this via sex. #2 be sure to wear 100% cotton underwear. #3 avoid douching unless told to by your physican. #4 Be sure to eat plenty of yogart every day to help replace the lactobacilli bacteria that is dystroyed by this virus as well as the antibiotics. #5 avoid tight jeans #6 avoid bubble baths if this seems to aggrivate things. #7 http://www.vaginalinfections.com/ This site has great info to check out.
