: this occurs mostly during the evenings/nights. we have no way of stopping this and
: sometimes this goes on for a long time and out of control. we would appreciate
: if anybody could help in solving this problem.
Hi
My son used to giggle uncontrollably when he was younger. I feel it is a way to calm themselves down (you know releasing tension and anxiety). What worked for us was catching it early by talking to him and gently hugging him until he stopped giggling. Distracting sometimes helped although sometimes it was better to let him work himself through it.He still loses it sometimes but it has improved with age. If anyone looks funny at him I simply tell them he has autism and then it is their problem!
