:Dear Tammy, I have a 7yr old in first grade all the teacher could ever say was how disruptive he was with the other students constantly in and out of his seat never could stay on task, would hit other children on recess, showed bouts of anger at school and here at home, by slamming doors stomping off and he would yell or out burst for no apparnt reason. He is a very active boy and very high spirted. I put him on adderal on 2-29-00 and the teacher noticed a change right off. I didn't tell her that he was on it till the next day. She says he can stay on task, he doesn't bug the other kids, he isn't easily distracted and his work is a lot neater. I only give him 5mg in the morning before school. I have seen some difference in him here at home. He is calmer no out burst but he still is very emotional and cries about anything it seems. I only plan on keeping him on this until school is out. If it helps him learn easier then I am all for it and so is he. He asked if the DR. could give him something to help stop his wiggles. I am still a little reserved every morning when I give him his pill but if it helps him get along better socially and acedemically I guess it's the least I can do for him. Erica I have a five year old son who has a severe anger problem he hurts others bites hits the doors against the walls so the knobs go through the walls and he is also very active and wont sit still his teacher says he is way behind his level in school and will have to repeat kindergarten he is very smart and does know what hes doing but just cant concentrate for that long and has to get up and GO his doctor has recommended adderall which i am still thinking about i dont know what to do if anyone has advice for us please let me know tammy: Jeffery has very bad behavoiral problems, at school he flips over desk and kicks other students, at home he hits and bites and threatens others around him. after being on ritalin for so long we decided to change over to adderall and see if it would help. His very first day on adderall was a complete change I went to pick him up from school I was totally shocked not to hear about all the bad things he had done but instead his teacher told me he had gotten the terrific behavior award.. I was so pleased i cried in the middle of the hall at school.. I think this medication was the best decision we have made for him, and we can only hope that it continues to be a blessing to us. We should all be thankful this medication is available to our children with add/adhd or any other behavioral problems.. KAY
