Since you have done a lot of research have you read anything about grape seed extract and its affects on ADD/ADHD? I know of a couple of people who use it to control their ADD instead of medications. I would think a natural food supplement would be worth a try. If taken in isotonic form it crosses the blood brain barrier and helps to control epileptic seizures as well as ADD.

: Hi, this is my first visit in this message board. Hello to all:) I'm 23 and I was recently diagnosed with ADD. Honestly, this has been a blessing for me. It has put so much into perspective. I'm taking Ritalin right now and so far, it has done some positive. Except I've lost 35 lbs. since January. I guess that isn't such a bad thing, since I was a little overweight and I've got my eating habits back in line again. I don't want to sound pretentious or anything, but I feel like an ADD expert, so if anyone has any questions, feel free. I'm always up for new insight as well and I'm sure you guys can share some things with me that would be beneficial as well:)

: One of the best sources of literature I have come across, are the books "Driven To Distraction" and "Answers to Distraction" by Edward Hallowell, MD and John Ratey MD. Both are practicing psychiatrists and both have ADD.

: Actually, I do have something to throw out for posible feedback. I haven't had a chance to read many of the posts so far, so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but does anyone have any info, experience, etc. with treating ADD with Dilatin. I visited Dr. Whitaker's website and searched for ADD and he suggested Dilatin over Ritalin. I know Dilatin is used to treat epilepsy in some. He said that it was better for children because it produced a calming affect without sedation, but I'm not sure how it would be for adults.

: Gosh, I'm so happy to have found a message board on ADD. There seems to be one for everything else:)hehe. Well, take care all. I look forward to talking with you all.

: Sincerely,
: Kara
