OK--never done this before so bear with me ... we have had special challenges with our son since day 1. Of this, a diagnosis of ADHD, sensory integration issues and anxiety issues. Anyhow, since the official ADHD diagnosis two years ago (after much testing, etc.) we decided to buck the system and try natural methods including a diet without preservatives, added color, flavors, etc. We saw immediate results regarding a kid who was always frustrated, impulsive and angry to one that became happy (we also sought vitamins that would help stress, etc.). He was eight then. Last year was 4th grade and a bit rougher because the school work and demands on him were growing. So, we put in place a 504 plan and tried to simplify his life (not to many extracurricular activities and structure, routine, etc.). Along with this, we have set up monthly visits with a counselor to help him gain better decision making skills. Our last addition to our regiment has been to increase the proteins in his diet during school hours so that his blood sugar stays level longer (not sending him to school on just a bowl of cereal or toast because the blood sugar will rise quickly and come down faster). This really seems to help too. So far, 5th grade is going well. My question, however, is ... has anyone been using Mannatech products? They are: Ambrotose and Phyto something. These are all natural products. Ambrotose is suppose provide cell to cell communications providing saccarides the body needs and the other product just provide the nutrition that our bodies need from vegetables (antioxidents) that we do not get everyday. Wow, what a mouthful ...
