: My daughter is now 15 months old, but ever since I was around 3 months pregnant with her I developed a bumpy, painful rash on my chin. I thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction to my prenatal vitamins, so I let it go. A month after she was born, I went to a dermatologist. He said I had eczema, possibly due to stress. He gave me an antibiotic and cream to put on the rash. While I was on the anitbiotic the rash seemed to go away. Ive gone to the doctors recently about the eczema, I was told there was nothing I could do about it. Although when I go tanning at a salon, the rash does go away. The doctor said its because of the ultraviolet rays. Im 3 months pregnant again so that is out of the question. In addition to the eczema, I developed some sort of allery to seafood when I was pregnant and it has stuck with me ever since. I used to eat seafood on a regular basis and I love it. Now it causes me terrible pains in my chest and stomach. Does anyone know if there could be a relationship between the eczema and seafood allergy? Will they ever go away since I develped them when I was pregnant? HELP! Im getting very fed up with both of these new found allergies.

I also had increased sensitivity due to pregnancy. I had a few food allergies, strawberries, peanuts, and oats. I got eczema from the strawberries and peanuts and hives from the oats. My youngest child is now 6 and I no longer have allergies to these foods. Try to find out what you are allergic to and avoid these things as constant exposure will keep triggering your immune system. Avoidance will give it a chance to "forget".
