: : : I am 47, and have had arthiritis for the last five years in my feet. I walk a lot during the day because I work in maintenance. I am taking Plaquinil and Relefen, but it only takes away 75% of the pain. If I increase the Relefen dosage, or any other over-the-counter medication such as tylenol, advil, aleve etc., it makes the pain and swelling worse. Any ideas?

: : Glad to hear there is someone else out there. I'm 52 with several years of arthritis in my feet. The are enlarged at the metatarsal joint. Is that the same with you?

: Hi. I'm 50, and have had severe pain in the balls of my feet for five years. I've had lyme and other tick diseases for 13 years, and have pain all over but the foot pain is really stopping me now. A doctor has promised me total relief if he takes my metatarsal joints out. They are not replaced. The procedure is called the Hoffman/Clayton. A few other doctors have agreed the procedure is a good one, fairly easy to do, and one that has been done for a long time. It's usually done on older people with rheumatoid arthritis. I want to talk to someone who has had it done or knows someone who has had it done. Will I be able to dance after? ski? ride a horse? Any info will be appreciated.
