: : Hi everyone

: : Well what an interesting time we have had lately on this board! My boy said to me today that "people say I'm stupid!" - I replied "you are not stupid you are autistic and a great kid" - at the end of the day I will look at everything offered and figure out whether or not it is appropriate for him and the rest of our family. Having a child with autism has made me a better person, a more whole person and a much braver person. Our autistic child has helped broaden our other children's view of the world and question what is normal after all?

: : Keep feeling brave

: Normal is your other kids mrs sarah, normal is not me and not your autistic boy we live in a trance we are not normal but i want to be normal and out of this thirty year looooooong trance i am very mad about what was done to my brain

Comment; Wouldn't 'normal' be that state of mind which usually has a lot of rationality in it's thoughts, actions and behaviors in relationship to the majority of the world? That's a bit like saying what is reality. Of course, in todays world, it's getting harder to tell what's rational and what's not. Seems as if the tides of behaviors have flowed out of the boundries of rational behavior into the previously unthinkable and the leaders of thoses overflows are trying to make everyone else believe that irrationality is sane because it's what Their brains tell them is 'normal' because they've accepted those behavoirs as being normal to them, because they are habitual to them. Umm, does that make 'sense'? Grandma Peg
