: I've seen others pst this request but no, we Need one, desperatly, as the school he attends is getting...disgruntled with our grandson because of his bowel problems and anything else, even if it has been a one time happenstance. They are a special ed. school but teacher said she's taught 'autistics' before and NONE of them Ever had this problem..!! Bosh..!! She doesn't know What she's dealing with. The Dr. at Riley Children's hosp. that comment, she knew better and understood. However, she didn't care for Lovaas - ABA- and wouldn't recommend it. She recommends the TEEACH method, from the U. of Virginia. Stil, she had no therapists recommendations. I understand that there are several different combo methods now using ABA plus...but no one seems to know how to get in contact with any therapists. Did you who use ABA just have the info fall on you out of the sky or is there a specific 'station' to contact..?? I've tried Lovaas site and the association for ABA therapists site but didn't find a contact site. So, I and others need the info from those of you who know. TNX, Grandma Peg
Hi Grandma Peg, you can contact your local ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) to see if they know of any providers. You can look in the yellow pages under behavioral specialists or contact a college in your area. If this gets you know where look up aba or discrete trials on the internet. Hope this helps. BL
