: My son who is 3 years old has recently had Grommets and has had the same awfull smelling
: discharge from his ears for the last 6 weeks. I have frequently visited my doctor as I was concerned
: as both ears were discharging heavily. My Doctor took a swab of the discharge and there is
: an infection which is now being treated with ear drop antiobiotics/steroid. I cant remember what its called

Comment: This is really interesting!!! You said that you can't remember but the bug is usually found in the "gut",,,I would like to know more about it...when my son Graham (who had so many ear infections I lost count and 3 sets of tubes) had his third infusion of Secretin, a day later his eardrum burst, we did not even know he had an infection!!! It took three rounds of antibiotics to kick it, it was the worst infection he had had and the doctors were baffled. His pediatrician always said it was as though his infection would never really get killed off. That it would just lay back in his sinus/ear area until it built back up, get killed down, build up,,,etc. Until the last time and we have not had an occurance since. We think it had to do with the Secretin (gut hormone) which had something to do with bringing it to an enormous head and getting it out for good!!! Interesting huh??

: - but this bug is usually found in the gut. I will be back online again Tuesday and I will bring
: the ear drop leaflet with me.
: Hope this is of some help.
