: Hi Jeff,or Tweak. My God that sounds horrifying!!! I think I would have been totally insane for those 8 hours!!! I'm sorry, but you might want to find some one else to do your epidurals next time.....Having said that, tell us more about your condition. Have you had surgery before? Just yesterday I posted the question is it possible to get any type of damage from an epidural, and Fran posted a great explanation. I had my 4th one done about 10 days ago, and I spent the last 9 days in agony. My pain increased from a level 8 to a 25!!! A couple of doctors down the road had told me that if the first one doesnt work, don't bother having more done. I did not believe them beause I had heard so many succesful stories after the 2nd or 3rd one. I guess they were right. Let us know more about your condition, and for God's sake dont let that man go near your back again!!! Be Well Maria(Bos)
Thanks, Maria, and it was pure hell, not being able to feel a damn thing, you don't realize the amount of energy one puts into relying on feedback from your own body to keep as comfortable as possible, and well, when it feels like a 1,000 weight attached to your neck, and you arae getting rolled around and such, it took a while to undo the damage done. (By the way it was a woman, and she will NOT be doing any more procedures on this boy. I don't think that I'm a candidate for anymore epidurals anyway. In a nutshell: 47 years old, cement mason by trade, but have been a superintendent for about 12 years now (you recognize him on the jobsite as the guy who doesn,t do anything). No prior surgeries, a few incidents over the years with soft tissue back stuff. Then on July 1, bam, fell over, and have been in pain ever since with degenerative disk disease. What a deal. I've scheduled anterior fusion for November 13th, just for lack of anything else to do. Thanks for your concern, you hang in there
