Krisst. I have been on W/C for over 4 years now and I call it hurry up and wait... I have been fortunate that I really haven't had to many problems ,till maybe now , but I will sit back and wait and see. I think every state is different also..Maybe you should check out from your employer and or state what goes there. I still have not needed a lawyer, but thing do go much slower that regular insurance. You go to the doctor, and lets say you need a test done, the doctor does a reports and sends it to w/c then it goes to my employer, they are self insured, then they approve or disapprove and it goes back to the adjuster , then a $$$$ figure is approved from both doctor and w/c then "whatever" gets approved now scheudle "whatever" it is 6-8 weeks later. I'm glad I'm not having heart problems. I've been to a W/C doctor(He is the best), Neuro, Ortho, Pshyitrist(SP), pain clinic, had 2 mri, 6 epi injections, SI joint injection, trigger point injection, discogram, IDET, months of P.T. and now I'm back to square one hurt like hell and then some.... Good Luck. And keep us posted Sue K
: so are you telling me that as long as i have a case number i can make them send me to another doctor? they are the ones who told me i had to go to a physcial med. doctor in the first place, i always thought it was strange that they told me who i was going to go see. when they are not doctors and do not know what you need. no one knows your body like you do, so why can't people trust our judgement. i know in this case it would have SAVED THEM $$$
: as far as insurance in this state, i tried to get insurance when we moved here. believe me when i tell you we do not make alot of money now (NOT like we did in virginia) and as far as my son we make $50 over the limit a month to qualify. i in virginia where we came from they want no child to go with out insurance. you can make up to about $50,000 now and qualify for some type of help. as far as myself, they offer insurance if you are pregnant ( and believe me i am not going that route!!LOL:0)
: anyways, all i have to do is fight with them to send me to another doctor. i have an appointment this week, and if he does nothing as always, i am going to demand a second opinion!!!! oh boy what fun!
: thanks guys yall are the best!!!
