I was broadsided in a wreck October 26 by a careless driver 16 year old boy. Five minutes after the wreck I began to feel discomfort in my lower back. I had some friends take me to the hosp. immediately. I couldnt sit with out radiating heat sensations going down my legs. I felt as if someone had shoved an ice pack down the back of my pants. My butt feels cold and my legs are having hot sensations all the way down to my feet? Weird! However I do not feel pain just a lot of discomfort. They xrayed my lower back and tail bone. Found nothing. Prescribed Flexeril and Darvocet and told me to see my personal physician. I went home and started having leg cramps in my calves. My Dr. looked at my xrays and says he sees bone spurs in the lower portion of my back. (Cant remember the termonology) Found a really sensitive area at L4 and L5. Thought I would come unglued when he found that! Now I have had an unstable back since I was first hit when I was 16, Im now 33. I have been seeing chiropractors since. They have been putting me back in line since. Now I am kinda scared. I dont want surgery. I dont really know what is going on except my nerves are disturbed possible being compressed right now. I have always had a high tolerance for pain. I have arthritis. Some how Im afraid that maybe it worse than I am feeling. I am not taking the drugs the Dr. prescribed. Im taking my vitamins B complex, Calcium and magnesium, and my Arthro 7, which I take for my arthritis. I am allergic to nsaids. I found this stuff works on my other joints. So....does any on know what is going on with my back? Any suggestions as to what I should or should not do. (As if I hadnt already backed off from doing too much) I try real hard not to "tweak" my back to avoid the jolt down my legs. Driving is the worst. Every bump is another jolt.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Dana
