Hello, The exercise you are doing with a medicine ball is great! It will firm up your thighs, butt, and abs due to the weight of the ball and the balance it takes to not fall backwards. I'm not a sit-up person. I just feel sit-ups are hard on the back. Side crunches are good for obliques. You can do them with lying on the floor with your knees bent and bring just your shoulders off the floor and slowly roll/turn your waist from side to side then back down. (Repeat 10-15 times.) If that isn't for you; then you can get into crunch position, cross one leg over your other bent knee, and lift your shoulders up off the floor toward the bent knee and down. (Repeat 10 times on each side.)
