Brochitis usually involves green or brown sputum, which is coughed up from the lungs, not clear mucus which comes from the nasal passages. It also normally involves coughing, shortness of breath and a temperature.
Have you been allergy tested? If you haven't it may be worth getting it done.
I don't really have any other ideas!
If your breathing is getting worse, then maybe you need to change your asthma meds. If I have misunderstood what you have written and the mucus is coming from your lungs, then mucus production is a common syptom of poorly controlled or worsening asthma. Either way, i should go and see your Dr.
