I believe pt is always the first line of defense. Surgery is very expensive and usually won't even be approved unless PT was tried. I had PT for months and months and months and no change for both of my injuries...I ended up with two surgeries and a third coming. As long as it is only a herniation PT is a good option. Most herniations will go away on their own. The problem is when bone spurs or narrowing persists. No pain meds or PT makes bone go away, darn the luck.. Great for you................God willing you do not have any further issues.
