Sorry you are going thru this. Most nodules are benign. Wait til you have an ultrasound and probably a biopsy to be sure. I had a 1cm cold, solid nodule and solitary, benign. Prior to the biopsy I was sure it was cancer, as it had all the signs, irregular, solid, on a destroyed thyroid. The biopsy showed I do have "hurthle cells" but they are not cancer. I do have to follow up in 4 months to make sure the nodule isn't growing etc. Hope you can get in soon for the ultrasound, its not knowing that drives us nuts!! but even the worst scenerio, cancer, its very treatable!!! one of the best cancers to get, if one must, is thyroid.
