Bromelain/papaya for sinus and inflammation.

I tried bromelain some time back to try to ease sinus problems but don't think I took it for long enough?
So am trying it again once my local health food shop has it in stock. When I went to town today they had none so I bought papaya chewable instead as that was in and the assistant said it has anti-inflammatory properties. Another store had the bromelain but it cost an arm and a leg!
I'm on ibuprofen at the moment and it helps but I don't want to take that for too long as it can upset your stomach lining.

Has anyone had success with bromelain or any other natural remedy?
