Tension? Sinuses? TMJ? Migraine? Stress?

I've had a headache for 10 days now. The first days it came with some dizziness and ear ringing. The dizziness is gone and the ear ringing is intermittant. The pain has remained constant though. It is bilateral and really bad around my eyebrow ridge down to my eyes and across to the sides of my head.

I've had many sinus infections before and the headaches with those are typically above the eyebrow ridge or down around my cheeks. If it is a sinus problem, it is presenting different. I don't have any noticable PND or fever that usually come with sinus infections either.

I suspected maybe TMJ but my cheek & ear muscle areas are usually most affected and they don't appear any worse than normal.

I've been to the doctor several times after OTC meds didn't work. They first had me try Hydroxyzine. I think he thought it was more stress related (I've seen him frequently for other health issues lately). It didn't work and made me feel wierd. He told me we just needed to break the "cycle" of the headache. I was then put on Fioricet which helped me sleep but didn't help the headache. I was then given a shot of Toradol which didn't help. Since Friday, I've been on Lortab. It has helped dull the pain some and I've slept a lot, but the headache has persisted. I also started on a round of Augmentin 875 last Friday in case it is a sinus infection.

I actually had a brain MRI several weeks ago for some facial numbness and it came back with no abnormalities. I've had no neck stiffness or nausea either. I also had a thorough exam by my opthomologist in August and my eyes are basically healthy except for some Dry Eye.

I'm really worn out by the constant head pain. I rarely miss work and have now been out over a week. I love to read and can't read more than a few pages at a time right now. I've been sleeping most of my day away on the meds.

My doctor is now referring me to a neurologist, but who knows how long it will take me to get an appointment. It took the entire day for the referral to process and by then the specialists office was closed.

Any thoughts on what else I can do to address this head pain? Where else should I be seeking help?
