Question diagnosed with achalasia about 2 years

Hello, everyone! I am 29 years old and was diagnosed with achalasia about 2 years ago when living in Chicago. I put off the surgery and have since moved back to Detroit. I've finally decided to go through with the surgery but I'm concerned that there are no surgeons in my area that will be able to do the procedure. Did anyone else have this issue and need to travel for the surgery? Also, has anyone had any other procedures before the myotomy? I'm just wondering if botox or the balloon dialiation would be an option in the interim until I can make time for the surgery. Lastly, did anyone experience bad acid reflux prior to having the surgery while suffering with the achalasia? I have very bad acid reflux, usually at night while I sleep and I think I'm developing a chronic sore throat/mouth sores from it. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

Thank you for your help!
