Silent Reflux and Omeprozale - making it worse?

Has anyone had issues with Silent Reflux getting worse when on omeprazole? I have had a sore throat (and other GERD symptoms) for about a month, they were slowly improving but not going away so I went to the doctor who put me on omeprozale. After I started taking this, my sore throat/hoarseness got considerably worse each day I was on it (I took it for four days). For that reason, I stopped taking it two days ago and have felt gradually better each day that I have been off it.

The main symptom that I speak of is ability to speak. I am a teacher and coach, and my voice has been very weak, and when on the drug it was far worse, I even went a day without speaking it hurt so bad. Has anyone had similar experiences with this drug? Thank you in advance.

It's possible that you have an infection as well.....did you have it checked via scope and swab?
Not all ppi or acid reducing meds work or agree with everyone. Have you tried zantac?

It's all a matter of perspective!
