What's this mean? Need to know

I went to ent & checked my throat...

he said i got terrible irritation/inflammation from gerd..and also there's gunk/ build-up from acid reflux..

what does this build-up mean?..is it like plaque? Any pics?..

..ent was really busy & couldn't answer my questions.

The gunk would be more than likely be excess and thick mucus caused by the constant irritation/inflammation.

Are you on meds? Did the doc take take biopsies? I assume if it looked like yeast or bacterial infection he would have given the you a prescription.

Do you have post nasal drip as well?

hi quincy...he only gave me stomach medication: omeprazole & pepcid...no antibiotics..no biopsies were taken..

he just wants to c me after 1 month & might send me 4 imagining if i don't improve..

Does that mucus build-up go away?..or it hardens?

Hi...it doesn't go hard, but can get really thick. The meds you will he using lower the stomach acid level and it will allow the area to heal within time. It would also be helpful to drink enough water throughout the day to stay hydrated and lessen some of the dehydration of tissue caused by irritation which creates more mucus.
